1. Information We Collect

Better Task Manager collects minimal information necessary to provide our services:

  • Account information (email address) when you create an account
  • Device identifiers for license activation
  • Payment information processed securely through Stripe
  • Diagnostic logs and daily feature-usage analytics from the desktop app (see section 5)

2. How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect to:

  • Provide and maintain the Better Task Manager service
  • Manage your license and device activations
  • Process payments and send transaction confirmations
  • Send important updates about the service

3. Data Storage

Your data is stored securely using industry-standard encryption and security practices. We maintain strict security standards to protect your information.

4. Payment Processing

Payments are processed securely through industry-standard payment processors. Your payment information is encrypted and never stored on our servers.

5. Desktop App Diagnostics & Analytics

The Better Task Manager desktop application sends diagnostic and usage data to our telemetry provider, Axiom (axiom.co), over encrypted connections. We collect this data on the basis of our legitimate interest in keeping the app reliable and understanding which features are used, so we can prioritize development.

By installing and using the desktop application, you acknowledge and agree that this diagnostic and usage data is collected and processed as described in this policy.

Diagnostic Logs

When the app starts and when errors occur, the app sends log events that include:

  • A device identifier derived from your hardware (used to group logs from the same device)
  • Your account ID, if you are signed in (used to assist you with support requests)
  • App version, operating system name and version
  • The error or event message

Daily Feature-Usage Report

Once per day, the app sends a summary of which features are in use. This report contains the same identifiers listed above, plus:

  • Whether battery charge limiting is enabled, and the configured limit
  • Whether heat management, XDR brightness boost, and auto-start are enabled
  • The number of process profiles and folder cleanup rules you have configured, and how many cleanup runs have executed

This telemetry does not include your files, documents, browsing activity, or the contents of the processes running on your device.

We use the device and account identifiers for two purposes only: to identify devices experiencing repeated problems, and to locate your diagnostic logs when you contact support so we can help you faster. We do not use this data for advertising or profiling, and we do not share it with anyone other than our telemetry processor.

You can request deletion of diagnostic and analytics data associated with your account or device at any time by contacting us at support@bettertaskmanager.com.

6. Cookies

Cookies are small text files stored on your device when you visit a website. We use them only for analytics purposes — no essential cookies are required for our landing page to function.

Diagnostic and analytics data is stored as immutable log records and cannot be viewed or edited through the dashboard; you can request its deletion by contacting us.
